About the Super Star Online service

Our Super Star Online service is available for home and home school users. It differs from our service for schools in that it is a monthly subscription service with no minimum subscription, whereas our service for schools is an annual service with a 25 user minimum. Use one subscription for all the members of your family.

How it works

Click on the "Buy" button to start your subscription. Choose the courses titles you want from the list, then enter the first and last names of all the family members (students) who will be using the subscription (note: there is a limit of 10 student accounts, if you need more, please call us). Continue the check out process, paying for your subscription with a Visa, Master Card, American Express, or a Discover card.

Your credit card will be charged $2.95 for the first month, the first month is an introductory price. You will receive an email confirming your purchase. Later, (usually within 24 hours, depending on when you subscribed) you will receive an email with the web address to access your subscription and with the user name and password for each student. This email will also give you the monthly cost of your subscription beginning the second month. The price is determined by the number of courses and students in your subscription ( see examples below). Your subscription will continue until you tell us to stop it. You can modify the number of courses or the number of subscribed students at any time. If you reduce your subscription more than 5 days after your billing date, your new rate will be effective the next billing date. You can change (trade) course titles once each month. You will be automatically billed each quarter until you stop your subscription and you will receive an invoice by email each quarter (3 months).

Parents do not need a subscription (unless they want to track their own progress). Each course has a "Parent" button to allow parents or other caregivers to view/print the progress of the student(s), become familiar with the course in a practice mode, or to work with the student in a practice mode.

Each student will be assigned their own user name and password. You can suggest a user name and/or password, if you don't we will assign one for you. It is generally better if we assign the user name and password. A link will be e-mailed to the family, which all members of the family will use to access the courses to which they have subscribed.

Key advantages

The Super Star Online service offers several advantages over our CD-ROM products:

• Flexible Choice of Courses - You can make changes to the titles to which you are subscribed to once a month. For example, if you've finished Phonics 2a, you could swap it out for Phonics 2b. Just call 800-460-7001 or e-mail support@helpme2learn.com and let us know which course(s) you would like to replace.
• Access Anywhere - There's nothing to install, so you can access the courses anywhere you have an Internet connection. You can use it on any and as many computers as you want. Parents, grandparents, uncles and aunts can all check the progress of the student from any computer with Internet access.
• Management - Each student has a single login, and the student's progress in all courses is tracked with that login.
• Quick Updates - When we make improvements to our course titles, the updates will be available as soon as we make them. You don't have to be concerned with which version you have or if you need to upgrade.

Features for Parents

The Super Star Online offers features designed for parents.

• Parent Features - Super Star Online has been designed with unique features to help parents work with their child on the lessons presented in the courses. These features include:
  1. A progress report - parents can view and or print a progress report that details the Silver and Gold stars the have achieved, how many attempts they have made, their total time in the course and each activity in the course, their speed round scores and their pre-test and post-test scores.
  2. The "Parent Mode" - think of the "Parent Mode" as a practice mode. This is your chance to become familiar with the games, activities and songs presented in each of the lessons. None of your data in the activities is saved and your activities do not change the data or scores of your child. This practice mode also allows you to practice the lessons with your child, then you can leave the practice mode and let the child complete the lesson to earn their (bronze in some titles) silver or gold stars.

     The Parent Button - When you or your child logs in to a Super Star Online title, you will notice a Parent Button beneath the title on the right side of the screen. Click on the Parent Button.

• Entering Parent Mode Click on the "Turn On Parent Mode" button to enter the Parent Mode.
1. Parent Mode Screen The first thing you will notice is the "Parent Mode" button at the bottom of the screen. This button will appear at the bottom of every screen, while you are in the Parent Mode. Click on this button while on any screen and you will activate the Parent Mode menu, where you can turn off the parent mode. Whenever you see the Parent Mode button, you are in the practice mode and your progress and data tracking will not be saved. You activities will not affect the tracking of the student. To exit the Parent Mode, click on the Turn Off Parent Mode button.
2. About Parent Mode The About Parent Mode button gives you a description of the Parent Mode.
3. View Your Child's Progress The View Your Child's Progress button allows you to view and/or print a progress report for your child. This detailed report will give you a great way of tracking the progress of your child. But there are other ways to track the progress of your child. To view the other reports, exit the Parent Mode, you can then click on the Super Star (depending on the course title) and go to the Super Star page, where you can see home many (bronze - depending on the course title) silver or gold stars your child has earned. You also have other reports that you can view and/or print. Viewing the Super Star page does not affect the tracking of your child.
4. View Message From Teacher Our home version of Super Star Online is exactly identical to the version we sell to schools all over the country. This is a school function that does not apply to home or homeschool users unless we have given you a teacher account.

System Requirements

The Super Star Online service provides highly interactive games and activities that make use of modern web browser features. We support the most common desktop operating systems and web browsers.

A broadband Internet connection is strongly recommended.

First Month $2.95

The first month costs $2.95. After that, pricing is based on the number of courses that you want to have available during the month, along with the number of students that will be accessing the courses.

Pricing after the First Month

Subscriptions start at $2.95 per month for one student and one course title available at a time. You may add additional students for $1 each per month, and additional course titles for $1 each per month. After the first month, you will be billed on a monthly basis.

Examples

1. 1 student and 1 title: $2.95 per month
2. 1 student and 4 titles: $5.95 per month
3. 3 students and 4 titles: $7.95 per month
4. 4 students and 7 titles: $11.95 per month

Subscribe

Click on a "Buy" link below to begin a subscription. This will prompt you for the name of the course(s) to which you want to subscribe, along with the first and last names of the students.

Canceling a subscription

The Super Star Online service is paid monthly through our automated billing. The subscription can be canceled at any time by calling 800-460-7001 or by e-mailing support@helpme2learn.com and letting us know you'd like to cancel.

Note that you will be billed for the full month if you cancel more than five (5) days after the billing date.
