Students and teachers are assigned to classes in the system. Courses are also assigned at the class level: everyone who is in the class has access to the courses that have been assigned to that class.
There is no "correct" order for creating classes vs. people. You can create the people first, and then create classes for them, or you can create the classes first, and then create people for them. When importing a list of people from a CSV file, you can have the import process create classes for you, or you can define the classes ahead of time and then choose how you want to handle class names in the import file. It’s up to you.
You can view, add, edit, and remove classes by clicking on the Classes button. Here you will see a list of all the classes, along with the number of courses assigned to each class and the number of students and teachers in each class. You can assign courses and people to an existing class by clicking on the Edit button.
You may want to consult with the teachers at your site to determine which courses they want to make available to their students. The table below shows the most common grade levels for the courses. Our courses will sometimes be used down a grade level or two for remedial students, or even more for special needs students. On the other hand, our courses might be used up a grade level or two for gifted students.
